Welcome to Geohazard Risk Management in Transport Sector Community of Practice!

This community intends to make geohazard risk management a centerpiece of transport and infrastructure planning by providing a platform for all stakeholders to share their experiences and learn practical skills that are directly applicable to development projects. Our community of practice is part of Building Resilience to Landslide and Geohazard Risk in the South Asia Region Program.

 


Proceedings: The first annual South-to-South Learning workshop Landslide and Geohazard Risk in Transport

The World Bank’s Disaster Risk and Climate Change Unit of the South Asia Region organized a regionalworkshop to build the capacity of policymakers and operational or technical government counterparts inAfghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka to integrate geohazard risk management into their infrastructure programs—thus helping to ensure the safety of people and property as well as the sustainability of such investments.

 

 

 

Geohazard Risk Management for Transport Sector
The Building Resilience to Landslide and Geohazard Risk in the South Asia Region Program supports policy-makers, and operational/technical government partners in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka in integrating geohazard risk management into their infrastructure programs to help save lives and preserve investments.

Building Resilience in South Asia's Transport Sector

South Asia region is susceptible to massive landslides, floods and earthquakes. The Geohazard Risk Management team of the World Bank discuss the challenges faced in the transport sector and to find solutions at the first annual regional workshop of south to south learning in South Asia.
