Updated Second South-to-South learning workshop on “Building Resilience to Landslide and Geo-Hazard risk in Transport Sector on calendar
Dear Transport and DRM TTLs,
As many of you already know, the “Building Resilience to Landslide and Geo-Hazard risk in the South Asia Region” Program, was launched in August 2016 by the World Bank with assistance from EU and the Global Facility for Disaster Risk Reduction (GFDRR). The First South-to-South learning workshop was successfully held in Kandy, Sri Lanka in November 2016 with 52 participants from all the SAR countries and World Bank TTLs. Eleven technical and country specific videos were also produced during the Sri Lanka workshop and can be found in the Youtube links provided in at the end of this email.
We would like to invite you to the Second South-to-South learning workshop to be held in Kathmandu, Nepal from November 15-17, 2017 specifically for you and your counterparts working on transport/DRM sector projects which include geohazard risks. This year, the workshop will focus on road maintenance for risk mitigation and disaster management for transport sector. The aim of the workshop is to share knowledge, experience, challenges and practical solutions that could be immediately implemented.
Eligibility Criteria of Participants: 5) One TTL of the project is also invited to participate if they are based in the region or are already in the region on mission.
